“What’s up, man? I appreciate you for meeting me.” I slapped hands with Reef as I greeted him. He’d finally gotten back to me with the information I needed on that nigga, Will. I would have reached out and reminded him sooner but with all the shit going on with Boston, King, and finding out about my sister the shit sort of slipped my mind. With the biggest issue out of the way, it was time for me to realign my focus on Tink.

“Ain’t nothing.” He took a seat from me. I called him and asked if it was any way he could meet me at Wing Stop. Although this was business on my end, ain’t shit wrong with a hot lemon pepper combo. “My bad about taking so long. Shit been crazy around here.”

“You good?” I raised a brow and asked. “You need my help with anything?”

Granted me and the nigga weren’t besties or no shit like that, but I fucked with him and my now brother-in-law, Halo. If they ever need me for anything, I’m here.

“I’m great,” he chuckled and assured me as the waitress brought over our drinks. Shorty was eye fucking a nigga like she wanted to get chose, and I wasn’t beat for the shit. I meant it when I said I was all about my girl. “I found out Bailey and I have a kid on the way.”

“Congrats, man.” We slapped hands once more. “That’s what’s up.”

We made small talk about our families while we waited on our food. Everyone seemed to be doing good for the moment, and I was happy about it. We’d had enough drama to last us for a lifetime and it was time to live in peace. Once our wings arrived, we ate quietly for a minute before we got down to business.

“As much as I enjoyed this little lunch date…” We shared a laugh. “…I’m anxious to see what you got for me.”

In order for Brooke and I to move on and be completely happy, everything from our past had to go. Granted, I couldn’t erase every bitch I’d crossed paths with, but that nigga Will rubbed me the wrong way. Although he was a little bitch during or first encounter, the way he reacted to Brooke putting him out of her spot didn’t sit right with me. I wanted to know everything about this nigga and asking Jos to find out the information was a definite no for me.

“So, the nigga has never been in trouble with the law, but I did find out he has a bit of a hand problem.” He handed me the manila folder. “At least every woman he’s dealt with has either been beaten within an inch of their life or never heard from again.”

Anger overtook my body as I looked at the pictures of various battered women. It pained me to know that Ry went through this with Boss, but knowing Tink could have been going through the same shit damn near had me wanting to turn this restaurant inside out.
